OptimRushBot
Last updated 23 October 2026
OptimRushBot is the crawler used by OptimRush, an SEO and AI-visibility product made by Unqode. Our customers ask it to read their own website and the websites of competitors they name, so they can see where their content differs. If you found it in your server logs, this page explains what it does.
It was previously called GrowthOSBot. Rules you wrote for that name in robots.txt still apply.
How to recognise it
Its user agent is:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; OptimRushBot/1.0; formerly GrowthOSBot; +https://optimrush.com/bot)
How it behaves
- It reads only public pages and never logs in, fills in forms or runs scripts.
- It obeys
robots.txt, includingCrawl-delay. If your robots.txt asks crawlers to stay away, it stays away. - It makes at most one request per second to a site that is not the customer's own, and slows down if your server answers with 429 or 503.
- It reads static HTML only and ignores images, scripts, downloads and addresses that look like endless filter or sort combinations.
- It reads a limited number of pages per site, so it will not crawl a very large site in full.
What we keep
For each page: the address, title, description, headings, the links on it, the structured-data types it declares, and a short excerpt of the visible text used to compare topics. We use this to compare coverage between sites for the customer who asked. We do not republish your pages or show your page text to anyone.
Slow it down or block it
To block it completely, add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: OptimRushBot
Disallow: /
To slow it down, add Crawl-delay: 10 (seconds) under the same User-agent line. Changes are picked up the next time we start reading your site.
